Becky is a painter who uses memorabilia, reclaimed artifacts, and almost antique objects to construct stories about how humans interact with the natural world. Her mixed media compositions question the limitations of a canvas picture plane by occupying unconventional spaces such as microscope slide file boxes and violin cases. Thanks to a Tacoma Artists Initiative Project grant in 2009, Becky’s most recent work explores how visual elements are influenced and changed by their physical surroundings in a body of work inspired by the sea, the jungle, and Charles Darwin. Becky is a member of Gallery 110 in Seattle, Washington.
